Architecture is not a creation of order. It is a creation of perceived, secure havens for life and work. How we do that is the option. As such, architecture is the language of intervention. When architects start to think this way people pay much more attention to what we are doing than if we think we are just doing some building out there, some structure on the landscape.
If we actually think we are intervening - socially, economically, psychologically, and so on - we will perhaps be more aware of the responsiblity that goes with it. We will perhaps look closer into what security means to people - security from the elements, from invasion, for productivity, for sanctuary - and other things that are involved with being an architect.
